For the leather components in our products, Cavesson's uses materials that are a natural by-product of the food industry. We use only bovine full grain hides and ensure that we use the highest quality available. Suppliers are UK or EU certified and maintain the appropriate environmental policies.
We do not make any products using CITES skins or hides. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), aims to ensure that trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten the survival of endangered species in the wild by regulating and monitoring their international trade. The CITES Secretariat is administered by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Convention came into force in 1975.
